This incense is made from 100% natural ingredients. The herbs are mostly
harvested in Nepal with some coming from Tibet and India. The powdered
herbs are combined with water and a natural glue that comes from the Laha
tree. This dough like mixture is then either hand rolled on to bamboo
sticks or made by machine into the dhoop sticks and dried in the sun for
two to three hours.
They are made by a family run business in Kathmandu. In good weather
around 15,000 sticks - 700-800 packs of incense can be made by the 12
people in one day.
The ingredients include pure Sandalwood, red Sandalwood, Juniper Berry,
Gokul Dhoop (Beddellium) resin, Agurwood, Spikenard, spices - Cloves,
Cinnamon, Nutmeg and Cardamon, Nagi, and Rhododendron.
No animal products are used.
